My name is John Fritts. I am twenty-two years old, and I began working for Sky Inc.on February 1st of this year. If we’re going back to the start, I grew up in the small town of Ardmore, Tennessee, before moving closer to the Nashville area after college to pursue a career in sales. After graduating college in May 2020, I went to work as a crew manager for a landscaping company in North Alabama until l could find a job in my desired field. During this time, I began to listen to audiobooks and podcasts when I developed an interest in learning about the profession of sales. I’d say I could credit much of my career to the things I’ve learned through that kind of media.
During middle and high school, I was active in the Boy Scouts of America program, where I earned Eagle Scout’s rank and developed a competitive spirit. Beyond that experience, I joined 4-H and the youth group at my church. I attribute much of who I am to these organizations. They helped shape who I am, and I appreciate the amount of time and effort poured into me by numerous mentors across the board.
Since starting at Sky Inc., I have learned and continue to learn from those around me about personal and professional growth. I enjoy the freedom that this job gives me to interact with people directly, not to mention how I get to be out in the fresh air day-to-day. The most challenging aspect of the job, and any job, is the rejection. It can be tough to hear ”no” repeatedly, and the mental fortitude necessary to push through does not come easy to me. That said, I have never been a quitter. Holding onto my ”why” keeps me going. I remember the reason that I do what I do and keep that at the forefront when advocating for customers. I believe that I have the power to make a difference in people’s lives through the products that I sell. I have the heart to help people, and if I’m not able to reach out and help someone through what I do, how could I stay motivated?
In the next five years, I would like to continue my education by reading books, attending seminars, or going back to school. I want to become more active in my local community and give back while advancing within Sky Inc.
