Building Healthy Habits

As our team at Sky Inc prepares to head into August, we are setting time aside to take stock of our progress in 2021 so far and to have a self-accountability session. Are our daily habits propelling us closer to our goals, or are they holding us back? Luckily, we’ve achieved some outstanding accomplishments this year and are on track to exceed standards over the upcoming months.

How are we maintaining our momentum and keeping our habits aligned with our goals? Easy! We follow a three-step system that we will be sharing with you today. As time passes, we make adjustments and sometimes change things up. What never alters are the following points.

Start Small — Take Your Time

With any significant life adjustment, you have to take your time and slowly introduce change. Adding healthy habits into our routine is no different. For example, a few of our team members wanted to start waking up two hours earlier. When they tried doing this cold turkey, they didn’t have the energy to excel throughout the entirety of their day. So, we encouraged them to start small by waking up thirty minutes early for a few weeks. Then, when they were comfortable, we had them add on another thirty minutes. We’re now heading into August, and our night owls have turned into morning birds!

It’s imperative that you allow your brain to get accustomed to the new habits you are looking to form. Only then will you gain consistency!

Identify What Could Hinder Your Progress

As we mentioned, we are big on self-accountability here at Sky Inc. While teamwork is essential to our company’s success, the group is only as strong as its weakest member. When working to build a healthy habit, we always lay out a list of things that could hinder our progress; this allows us to steer clear of those distractions and provides a list of negatives to turn to when we check in with ourselves throughout the development process. Progress is only made when you are aware of potential obstacles.

Have An Accountability Partner

Again, holding yourself accountable is an essential part of growth and a characteristic we look for when interviewing candidates to join our team. However, it’s okay to utilize your colleagues as a means to hold yourself accountable. If you’re not comfortable relying on one of your peers, speak with your mentor or a wellness counselor and set up bi-weekly meetings.

Building healthy habits is not something that can be done overnight. It takes time, which is why we always encourage our people to set short AND long-term goals. This provides you with room for error and plenty of time to make adjustments. Our three-step system is a surefire way to kick off a healthier, more successful career. Utilize each one at the start of your journey, then swing back by them when you’re taking stock of your progress, as we are doing now.

Our whole team at Sky Inc is wishing you the best. We hope this system helps you develop into a well-rounded, dynamic, and successful business leader. Best of luck!
